Ocean Palms Goa

Occasionally A Backpacker Needs Some Luxury

When backpacking, sometimes hosteling and Airbnb can get a little old. Sometimes you need to have a bit of a break from your travels, a nice hotel or resort, where you can get some privacy and know you’ll get a lovely room. Maybe even with a pool and a bar. When in India, Ocean Palms Goa (who’s PR have sponsored this post) is a great place to stop and have a rest from your travels.

A Bit About Goa

Goa is a state in Western India, the coastline of the state stretches along the Arabian Sea. Known for it’s beaches and laid back fishing villages it’s a perfect place to relax for a while on your travels. However, even if you want to relax, there’s still plenty to see and do. Goa is a colourful mix of Portuguese and Indian culture, due to it being a Portuguese colony until 1961. Because of this there’s nowhere else in India quite like Goa, with Portuguese architecture, white washed churches and stunning cathedrals.

Goa is known not only for its beaches, but in winter it becomes a spiritual retreat. With a wealth of yoga, reiki, meditation and more on offer, it’s the perfect place to wind down. There are full retreats or drop in classes, so you can really take the spiritual seriously or just give it a try.
