Ella’s Cafe

Expect Local Produce Prepared With Love At Ella's Cafe

Ella’s Cafe is in Uig on the Isle of Skye. Just off the main road and behind the petrol station Ella’s Cafe is located in a building called the Sheiling (which means ‘hut’ or a ‘collection of huts’). Don’t be fooled by it’s run down appearance, the cafe inside is well worth a visit for lunch or a light bite!

As you enter the Sheiling, the cafe itself is on the right of the entrance. To the left is a shop.

The Shop

The shop to the left when you enter is a real treasure trove! Here you can find local craft items, old books, clothing and even furniture. If you’re looking for a gift, chances are you can find something here!

Turn right after entering the Sheiling and you will be facing Ella’s Cafe. You will receive a warm welcome – especially on cold days when the stove heats up the seating area!

Sourcing The Food

The food served at Ella’s Cafe is as locally sourced as possible! Most produce comes from Skye or other areas of the highlands. For example:

Meats are sourced from Scottish smokehouses
Cheeses come from a highland dairy
Chutneys and Jams are sourced from a small producer in Glendale

And you don’t get more local than the salad leaves and herbs – they’re grown right here! So you can always be sure your salad is fresh! The same goes for bread and cakes, they are all baked on the premises!

The Menu

The menu at Ella’s cafe does have a vegetarian focus (but is not all vegetarian). Here are just a few examples that you may find:
