Choosing what to take with you when you travel can be a tough one, whether you are going for a weekend trip or long term. Personally, I always like to take a hoodie of some sort with me, not just for colder regions, but also just in case the evenings get a little chilly. But hoodies and coats can be quite bulky, making them hard to travel with, especially if you want to travel light. When Kameleon Rose brought out a 5-way cardigan I had to give it a try!

About Kameleon Rose
Kameleon Rose was the creation of Leila Rose, who realised the difficultly of finding travel clothes. As she travelled she realised how hard it is to find travel clothing for women that is practical, comfortable and stylish. Because of her frustrations, she created the Kameleon Rose Ultimate Travel Dress (you can read my review of the travel dress here). Since then Kameleon Rose featured on Dragon’s Den (in which Leila was successful in receiving investment) and Kameleon clothing now has a range of convertible travel gear including the Kameleon Rose 5-Way Cardigan, Ultimate Travel Pants and a 4-Way Shirt.
The clothes available from Kameleon Rose are made in factories in Madagascar and Mauritius. The factories are WRAP certified, which means that they are ethical as they have twelve principles that must be adhered to. These principles are based on generally accepted international workplace standards, local laws and workplace regulations. The principles are there to ensure that the factories maintain lawful, humane and ethical conditions for the workers.
The Cardigan
The Kameleon Rose 5-Way Cardigan is and item of travel clothing that can be converted into different styles. It can be worn as a cardigan or hoodie, with or without a hood. The cardigan is available in two colours; black or grey.
Made from 51% cotton and 49% polyester, the cardigan is stretchy, non-creasing and easy to care for. Kameleon Rose states that the cardigan is temperature regulating. There are also thumb holes and a hidden pocket.

As I love my Kameleon Rose Dress, I was so excited to be receiving a Cardigan. When I received the cardigan, the first thing I noticed was how soft the material is. I had chosen the grey cardigan, which is a medium grey and I find that it goes with anything.

I found the hidden pocket to be a little on the small side, the same point I made with the dress. You can only really fit a few cards in there and maybe a bit of money. But you have no chance of stowing away your phone. The larger pockets on the outside are more suitable for a phone but with no way of fastening them, I will only use them if my hands are in there holding my phone too.

One more slight negative is that I can find it difficult to stow away the hood sometimes. You have to roll it up perfectly or it looks odd. Luckily, the other half is much more patient than me and has no trouble doing it for me.

On a positive note, I absolutely love about the cardigan is the thumb holes. My hands get cold very easily, so this really helps with keeping them warm.
I’m All About The Thumbholes With The Kameleon Rose Cardigan
Since I received the cardigan, I have taken it with me on several trips. This has included winter travels and adventures to warmer climes. The cardigan is perfect for when it gets a little chillier at night and warm enough when in colder areas. In fact, when there’s wind I’d say it’s actually warmer than my coat. I have also worn the cardigan casually and to smarter events. It really is a versatile item of clothing.

What can I say, I love the Kameleon Rose Cardigan and so it gets full marks. Despite the small negatives I found, overall it is a great piece of travel clothing and it has become a staple in my travel wardrobe. It suits any occasion and can be used in any climate.
For me, travel clothing should be stylish, comfortable, easy to care for and come with hidden pockets. This cardigan has all those points. It doesn’t crease, is so soft, stretchy and warm. Although I will say it’s not as quick-drying as the Kameleon Rose travel dress, but being an outer layer it doesn’t need washing as often so that doesn’t cause an issue.
I’ve Even Found This Cardigan Comfortable And Warm Enough For A Short Hike In Ireland
I tend to wear it mainly as a cardigan and only change to a hoodie when I’m feeling cold. In all the styles I love the cardigan and will definitely keep taking it with me on my adventures.
